BIO
My name’s John, I’m a singer-songwriter residing in beautiful Summit County, Colorado.
My style is folky at its core, with a wide range of inspiration from favorite artists past and present, including The Beatles, Jason Isbell, Caamp, Tom Petty, The Avett Brothers, Tyler Childers, Wilderado, My Morning Jacket, John Denver, Lord Huron, Jack Johnson, Gregory Alan Isakov, Sturgill Simpson, O.A.R. and a whole lot more.
I’m a self-taught musician and hadn’t played out in front of anyone until just a few years ago. While I had learned a couple chords in college, it wasn’t until the height of the pandemic that I truly picked up the guitar with an intention of teaching myself how to play and sing. I’ve always been passionate about music, and suddenly had a whole lot of free time on my hands. Songwriting came naturally, as a form of self-expression and therapy more than anything else.
Formerly a public educator, I moved to the Colorado High Country in 2020 during the height of the COVID pandemic, needing a change of pace and scenery. After being encouraged by friends to start attending open-mic nights around Summit County, I began getting booked for shows and things have progressed rapidly over the last couple of years. You can find me playing almost 100 shows a year all around Colorado, and my original music is streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, etc.
I look forward to continuing to grow each day in my playing and writing capabilities, and tackling new and exciting exercises in songwriting. My original music will always, at its core, serve as an outlet, a very personal expression of this wild ride that is the human experience…
